Parenting Teens: The Cardiac Report

Flat Lines and Teen Cluster, Louisville Kentucky Waterfront
Tomorrow, a more serious post to commemorate Women's Equality Day which is August 26th.

Today, a frivolous post about parenting teens, a theme that the second year fellows in our program and I have been discussing more extensively of late.

My 10 year old is waiting for me in the kitchen and gleefully points to a cartoon entry in the Saturday comics section:

Three parallel EKG readings: Normal Sinus Rythm representing the healthy adult, Tachycardia extraordinaire representing the parent of toddlers and....to capture the cardiac status of the parent of teenagers? Yes, you guessed right: A flat line.

My son quips even more gleefully: "Mom....You're a Zombie!"

Till tomorrow,

Anne
