Drs. Glowinski, Rogers and Sylvester at Chefs de France, Epcot |
The meeting location was not as magical for all as passionate Disney fans might assume. This blog post is not about the pros and cons of WDW as a meeting site... But, if it were, my core argument would be something along the lines of: cute children sauntering by (pro) vs. spending days in an artificial fish bowl where the music regularly includes "It's a [small/whole new] world" (con)...But I diverge.
Notwithstanding the location, the meeting itself felt magical for many reasons including, in particular, reunion with dear friends and colleagues, meeting wonderfully interesting and talented new students, residents and colleagues and my joy because of the receipt of Awards by: Dr. Chad Sylvester, one of the chief residents in our program (who won the 2013 Robinson-Cunningham Award for best paper written by a resident), Dr. Cynthia Rogers, one of our very talented faculty (who won the 2013 Klingenstein Third Generation Foundation or KTGF Award for best paper written on the topic of depression or suicide) and the KTGF who won the 2013 Catcher in the Rye Humanitarian Award, which recognizes outstanding advocacy efforts on behalf of children and adolescents.
Next year in San Diego,
Till Later,
Anne
Great to be there as well I found the magic of Disney to be endearing, as well.
