Developmental Snapshot: "I Have Not Reached That Stage Yet..."

New wing of St. Louis Art Museum
MLK Day in my house.

A mixture of inspiration ("Is the Universe Friendly?" from the man himself permeating the top floor of the house) and mundane (cleaning the refrigerator with my three boys, which upon reflection...actually does count as an inspired self-improvement project of sorts.)  My husband is at work, taking care of sick children, which definitely also counts.

Now that the refrigerator has been purged of all spontaneous science experiments, it'is shopping time.

"Who wants to come with me?"

Silence, gaze avoidance and frantic sink cleaning.

"I might drop by an Art Gallery..."

My oldest, benevolently professorial, as one would address a very confused adult "I have not reached the stage where the idea of going to an Art Gallery is especially appealing....That probably happens around 26 or so...First, your brain has to fully develop. You have to  go through many other stages before Art Gallery appreciation sets in.."

Well, there you go. My mature brain and I are going to get some milk and eggs.

Till Later,

Anne
