Happy New Year and Coping and Life Skills

January 2019 Life Skills IG posts @drglow1
The last evening some of my favorite medical students asked if I had New Year's resolutions?

I do not; not really. I was still able to rattle off a few things that are almost always my resolutions: be a better me, with more capacity to help others, better self care, and continued growth and learning over stagnation and permanent regression if I can.

Also.... I did not say that but poetry is pretty important.  I am never going to fully see life as an organized sensical whole. I understand that as Harari, the author of Sapiens, Homo Deus and 21 Lessons for the 21st century, points out, we humans love stories and ascribe them to our lives. I do that as well... but with a big surrealistic grain of salt and that's where poetry comes in: it's beautiful and doesn't have to make sense...not in a linear way.

So with the unavoidable story line of New Year=New Opportunities I did start a few things: I got an organizer journal (I thought it came with awesome stickers and it did not but I'm adapting) and I started posting daily about coping and life skills on instagram. My handle is @drglow1 if you are on instagram. If you are not, let me know and I can integrate the posts to this blog over time.

Happy New Year and Till Later!

Anne
